212 or Dark Knight - Page 2

And 212+ is just great for an i5 sandy. Not as much as a 1366 rig, but these chips are quite cool and would at least be able to get 4.5ghz at least I would think. Kinda makes me sad cause I wanted to water cool my Sandy, but I almost feel like it would be pointless.... I want to do it for theme though too. All black UD4 with black tubing... with all black case or maybe 600T white.... FTW

Bottom line, are you happy with it? I am. The Dark Knight represents about as much money as I am willing to invest in air cooling.

Buy the adapter, re-use you DK, and plan for a nice water cooling setup. That's my plan (and advice to you) .
Funny how this is the only reply that makes sense. Why do so many people assume the 212+ is so much better than the DK? If you did your research, you can see that the 212+ cools slightly better than the DK (by 1C), but the DK is quieter than the 212+ (by .5dBA).

Yes, the 212+ is the better cooler because it is much cheaper. But, seeing he already has the DK, the obvious best advice is to just buy the bracket. Why pay extra money to buy a cooler that is almost identical to the one he has (in terms of performance). Hopefully, OP sees this before he wastes money.
