Router Drivers?

Cheers on any input.

Hey, my friend had a power outage that corrupted his HDD. After a format, he has everything working except he can't connect to his router. So he asked me to e-mail the realtek LAN drivers. Not too much of an issue. However it seems like the file is too large. Is there a way to break down the file into chunks that he could later zip together?

Another problem is that his router is missing its own drivers? What do you do about that?

He has a 2Wire 2701HG-T router.

The power outage may have fried the router as well. That's if the router doesn't work, which is what I'm understanding if the 'router needs drivers'

Aw man, bad news.

Also, I can't seem to compress an already compressed zip file small enough to e-mail. What are some good file hosters that are safe to use?

What email client are you using?

How big is this file?

How did you compress it?

No thumb drive or SD cards?

I believe 7zip allows you to split files.
Once again...

Well, tried 2 methods. Compressing the compressed .zip and only got .1 MB less. Tried compressing through 7zip but it would say: "No E-mail detected" and wouldn't save the file afterwards...but it seemed that it was saying it was still 19 MB in size.

That's probably what he is going to do. Download from his phone and then transfer it to the PC. He is in Toronto while I'm in Alberta.

I was trying to get him to go on skype but it doesn't seem to be working either (phone more likely).

Cheers for input! +rep
