Thoughts on the sidewinder x4?

What are people's thoughts on the sidewinder x4 keyboard? Is it a good price/performance budget keyboard?

From what I've seen it's the best keyboard you're going to get at that price point, if I wasn't a mechanical keyboard nut I would probably get one.

Since I only use this keyboard for gaming, I'm not sure I'd need a mechanical because I wont be typing a whole bunch; they do seem loud as well.

Does the x4 need software to work?

The x4 is great. I love how sleek t looks. If I didn't have this Alienware keyboard (a rebranded Logitech g11/15 kb) I would get it. Its a lot more cleaner than the older x6, the volume/light knobs on the x6 were hideous. I say get it, if you have a Fry's near you they might have one for u to try out.

it doesn't need software. Its plug and play. I think you only need the software if you want to use the macro keys on the left side of the kb. Same thing with my Alienware/Logitech keyboard.

I hope it will take less desk space than my logitech wave wireless keyboard. Then I can keep my wireless keyboard for being lazy on my bed

The first keyboard to have 18KRO over USB.

The Leopold was the second (I don't count the Ducky G2 or Noppoo because those don't work under OSX).

IDK why I would ever need to press that many keys, but it's good to know i can if I ever want to type by slamming my face into my keyboard . Maybe when my L4D2 team fails

You don't need quite that many, but most keyboards in that price range will lock after two keys on some combos. Knowing that can't happen is nice.

Crouch, strafe, forward, redundant shift, switch weapons, turn on night vision, and pick your nose. Clearly all keyboard should have 7KRO
