My son just bouight a Mionix Naos 3200 from Newegg for $45. He opened a new account used the code "NEWACCOUNT10" or "NEWMEMBER10" I forget which and got $10 off. So $55+freeshipping, no tax, minus the $10 discount FTW.

If you are in the ConUS check it out.

I've hard the DeathAdder has pretty ridiculous lift off distance. Does that cause any problems while gaming?

it depends how often u lift ur mouse. even if the lod is the triple of my 3.0 i find really hard to notice it when i'm used to - and i lift my mouse very often.
it's down to preference

The Deathadders LOD is in line with many current mice. It's between 3.6mm and 4.8mm (3-4 CDs). Depending on the surface, it might even be lower or higher. Anyway you can lower the DA's LOD by sticking some scotch tape over the sensor hole and doubling up the mouse feet to make room for the tape.

If you pick up your mouse and put it down you'll see that your cursor moves a little bit. The higher the LOD, the more it moves when you pick it up and put it down, especially if you are lifting and setting it at an angle instead of straight up and down. You can see how that could get annoying.

+1 for the G500. I use this at work for everyday stuff, and on one PC at home for gaming/general browsing. I personally use a g9x but their feature-sets are similar - only real difference is the LED color and the grip styles.

G500 is a great mouse - it goes on and off sale at newegg very frequently, you can usually pick it up in the sub 50 range with a rebate. I picked up 2 for work at 36.99 after $20 rebates, great deal around christmas.

3.6mm is such a small distance anyways, I wouldn't bother with the scotch tape if I got a death adder. Never heard anything else bad about the mouse, I definitely recommend it (although I can't give you first hand experience of using it)

OP, you've got the right mouse in your head already. MX518 imo is the best budget gaming mouse there is for the price.

I've had one for over three years, great mouse & served me well before it gave way a few months ago this year. I would buy it again if I wanted to but I like to try different new stuff once I move on from something plus I already have a Deathadder 1800 which is my favourite & primary mouse I use.
