My i7 @4Ghz With HT Off Will It Bottleneck 2 GTX 560ti In Sli - Page 3

I have mine turned off also. I like the temp drop and i built this pc to game so HT isn't really needed in my opinion. If it wasn't for the Temp rise Id keep it on but i just don't see any use for it.

If you are concerned about the temps with HT on, then find a better way to cool it! I will repeat what many others have said... if you don't need HT, you should have gone with the i5.

I bet games will start to take advantage of HT really soon. I think Bad Company 2 is one game that does take advantage of multi-core and HT.

I get about 80 i think with it on and at full load. i do want a better cooler but im not going to spend 80 on the noc 14 for only a couple degree diff. next upgrade will be water cooling and im already looking at the Swiftechs. but il have to wait cause i dont have 300 to spend right now.
also when i do activate HT my pc wont even pass prime. it black screens after just a couple min. any ideas?

Cus all we do is game.

Not.

He has the option to enable it when he needs it, for instance when Folding or Encoding. It isn't that hard to apply BIOS profiles with HT on and lower clocks or HT off and higher clocks. Apply which ever you need in any situation.

You see, he already bought the CPU so this discussion is pointless. If you have the money, buy the option, after all this is OCN.

Ex. You can buy a house with AC, just because you'll only need it during the summer means it's pointless ? I think not.

Here's a question, would the corsair H70 drop my temps any from my current cpu cooler?
