Pesky Virus help!

I had family and friends over the other night. and I felt like being nice by letting them use my Sig. Well Apparently someone Downloaded something that caused it to Shut down. Upon reboot it goes Straight to 'Windows Recovery'.

I have an Old drive with XP so I did a virus scan. It found the virus and 'Quarantined' it. I said ok and rebooted. nothing. I realized I had to delete it. so I did. No Sucess. I did the scan on the from the other drive and FOund it. so I deleted it from the Antivirus. Rebooted and No sucess.
The only thing different is that it now says "starting windows for almost a full 2 seconds and then goes to recovery.

i tried this;

Okay, so you got a virus and it corrupted your computer, either by slowing your computer WAY down or shutting it off.

You tried the first step, but the virus blocked superantispyware, avira, and malwarebytes from downloading or updating.

Software to download for this section:
1. Superantispyware Portable: (its a fully functioning and fully updated MS-DOS version, requires no installation or updating) link or direct link.

Steps to take:
Follow these steps very carefully
1. After downloading Superantispyware Portable, open the file location
2. Locate the File (begins with SAS_) and rename it to "scan" (without paranthesis).
3. Move the file to the root of C:/
4. Restart computer and start up Safe Mode with Command Prompt (F8 usually)
5 When the Command Prompt appears type in C:
6. Type in "scan" (without parenthesis) and press enter
7. It will take about a couple seconds and then the program should appear
8. You want to do a FULL scan
That failed as well since it only sent me straight to Recovery after loading up safe mode.

Anyone have any ideas?

I use kaspersky recovery disk. It uses a live cd and updates automatically.
Good luck.

When it goes into recovery get to the Advanced Options area...

Then go to Command Prompt

try

bootrec /fixboot
and
bootrec /fixmbr
also
bootrec /rebuildbcd

its possible that virus corrupted your bootsector

Good luck.
Tried that, woke up early, booted it from disc, went to school and 12 hours later it was done. It worked!
