XFX 6950 2GB Shader Unlocking Failure - Need Help

Thread Starter
I just bought a new rig just a few days ago, with the plan to unlock my XFX 6950 2GB. However, it seems I have recieved a later revision of the model that does not include the bios switch and on top of that can not be flashed. So, what is the result of attempting to unlock this card?

Disaster.

I was following this tutorial: http://www.overclock.net/amd-ati/923129-hd-6950-810-1250-mhz-shader.html

And when asked to reboot (after flashing) the computer didn't properly shut down, but the monitor did. A few minutes later, I turned the computer off by pushing the power butten, and when trying to boot up again the monitor would not recieve any signal and remain black.

So I thought I'd just flip the BIOS switch, but to my surprise there was none. ****.

What now?

Well, I'll just have to borrow one of my friends cards and flash it with the backup... damn, I never made a backup of the BIOS.

So, if there is some kind hearted man or woman out there that could help me with:

1. Download link to Default BIOS for XFX 6950 2GB (latest revision without dual bios)
Best thing would be if someone with the exact same card as me could upload their default BIOS.

2. Walkthrough on how to flash the 6950 while running windows through another GPU.

Here's a guy who had the same trouble with this card

I read some stuff on line and apparently, even if I would unlock the extra shaders, I would only gain a 3% performance increase compared to just over clocking my video card.

EDIT: If someone knows a BIOS that has succesfully unlocked the shaders for this card, it wouldn't hurt if i tried it now that the current BIOS is not working. (While waiting for some hero to save the day by finding the original one)

I sure hope someone can provide you with a BIOS for the XFX card. Just to point out, that guide you followed looks like you used an ASUS BIOS. That is probably what caused your issue. You should not have used a foreign BIOS if your intention is to just unlock shaders. You can use your OWN BIOS, mod it to unlock shaders, and you should be good.

EDIT: Check this out and see if this will work for your card.

And to reflash it back, you can either do a blind flash or you can use onboard video or another crappy card from a friend. If you use another card, put it in the first PCI-e slot and put your card in the second. Then when you use ATIWinflash, make sure you use '1' instead of '0' to unlock ROM or to flash.
