RAM Temp Spikes in HWMonitor!?

Hey all,

I've been noticing spikes in my RAM temperature when reading HWMonitor
Attachment 212134
Notice also the "min" temp is stated at 5c!

I can't imagine that this is correct, anyone have any insights when it comes to HWMonitor, or any other programs that will give me "accurate" reading accross the board?

Note: I have Crucial Ballistix 2x4gb kit and i also have the MOD utility that monitors temps, and it never shows the temps deviate from between 30c and 42c

Cheers,

Ishi

Must be HWMonitor then if your other application doesn't show these fluctuations in voltage. Maybe HWMonitor isn't tuned for RAM, as not alot of ram have temp sensors as standard. HWMonitor in general seems fairly dependable though. Just my opinion of course

Software temperature reading is often wrong. Your Ram's not going to be hitting 211'c.

So i should still use it to monitor max/min vcore and such, and just disregard the readings for RAM temp?

Would the RAM sticks asplode at those temps?

Yeah, unless you have another preference of course, but i use HWMonitor, and i've compared it with my bios temps, cpu-z, and AMD Overdrive, and they all read the same, so im assuming that HWMonitor is reliable in general, as it seems to be for me.

Alot of the intel folk like to use Real Temps. if you'd like to try it, i don't like it myself though, but thats purely on personal perference.

Im actually running Real Temp in the screenshot lol...

But i dont know of any programs that monitor voltages the way HWMonitor does i.e Min/Max
