This laptop will be used primarily for coding and running simulations that load all 4 cores at 100%. It won't put the CPU under the same stress as prime, but cooling is still a large factor.

Gaming isn't crucial, but I like having the option.

Just whatever you do don't get HP, Most of their laptops overheat and die right after the 1 year warranty and they are just bad. I got one HP laptop and even though it was free I'm a bit unhappy with it because even though its new it has so many already. Out of the 4-5 hours advertised I barely get 3 or not even 3 in power saving mode and it heats up so much that you can not use it as a "laptop.

a new xbox 360 slim is only $150 so that's not really a big factor if you're buying a gaming laptop over $1000...

It's not worth it for the power of a Sager. I guess you could customize a nice HP laptop but it would be way more expensive than a Sager.

Yeah.... I suppose I should just get the Sager.

Anyways, I just learned that the xbox offer is a little misleading... It says any windows PC, but what it really means is any windows PC out of this very limited selection. And little or no customization.

I would love to get one of the np81x0, but it is just a little too expensive for what you get compared to the np5175.

Wait, you can only get the deal with store PC's? No customized online ones? Thats pretty damn lame.

The deal works for customized online orders on participating manufacturers websites.

Oh ok. Because if it was just for some POS $600 Dell thing with a crappy processor and integrated GPU, **** that.

There is a varied selection, but in the microsoft store all the laptops are prebuilts.

I found this link about HPs selection:
