Two 6870s, or even two 6950s, and even two 6970s if you wanted.

I will say this for TSF. Their anti-virus squad are pretty competent, their games techs are friendly and helpful, and Raptor_PA, their hard drive expert, is a genius (works for a large data recovery company). But on the whole their advice, especially on hardware, is very sub-par, and they know so little about PSUs it's frankly embarrassing to say I even visited the place, let alone worked there.

so if i had 3x HD6870's then i would have to upgrade(this is slightly crazy as i never plan on owning 2 let alone 3 lol) but on one Hd6870 with my sig rig even under 100% load im ok?
You cannot run three 6870 in crossfire mode. There is only one crossfire finger per card. You need two crossfire fingers per card to run 3-way. 6870 is only capable of 2-way crossfire.

Oh, wow. I signed up on TSF, and recommended a CX430 V2 to power a rig with an Athlon II X4 & GTS 450 in it.... I got banned from the RAM/PSU section straight away.
