Hmm could be a good idea to flash my 580 to lighting bios?

would it work? surely it would help with max OC being able to adjust Memory/PLL Voltage?

Anyone?

Thanks, Sir Overkill.

absolutely not..it'll brick.. your gpu doesnt even have the same voltage control IC's.. there will never be triple voltage control for anything other than MSI TF and Lightning...unless you mod the gpu yourself of course

the lightnings are special..and their bios does not work with any other gpu

Also what is MSI warranty like? does it get void as soon as the stock cooler comes off?

Thanks, Sir Overkill.

EDIT: I was going to rep you but the whole evil thing you have going is great! what do you think?

Its non-reference so it might actually work...I would contact MSI about the warranty and about that specific block...

Congrats on your card! Either one would have been a great choice. In my opinion the TFII & III cards along with the ASUS DCUII cards are sweet well built quality cards.

I had an AMD 6870 TFII crossfire set up and I hit the 1Ghz clock. Loved the heat pipes and cooling system on them.

Let us know how it does over clocking and post your specs on MSi GTX580 Lightning Twin Frozr III Overclocks thread that just started. Be interesting to see some clocks acheived and benching marks.

Good luck, again congrats bud.

I went with the TFII for the compatibility with a fullcover block in the future.
