Issues with 2 monitor / HD 6970 config

Hello everybody, here's my problem:

I have 2 6970 (only 1 pluggd at the computer) and I have 2 monitors (different resolution). It seems only 1 monitor gets image at a time, I mean, when I plug 2 monitors into the graphics card only 1 gets image. I have the 2 VGA monitors with a DVI-VGA adapter and aparenlty it's a DVI port problem (I've tried diferent combinations with both adapters and monitors and 1 DVI does not display image (always the same)).

Same happends with the other 6970. So I wonder: WHY!?

(1 of those 6970 is HIS 900/1400 and the other one is only "AMD" 880/1375, so not even the same assembler ).

Hi MrDucktape. I believe one of the DVI ports requires a pure digital connection so you won't be able to use two DVI-VGA connections. Take a look at the DVI ports, see if one has 'VGA' next to it?

You are absolutely right, how dumb of me Too good I didn't buy this, just came for free

Thank you so much. Looks like I'll have to get a new monitor

Edit: If I don't want to spend money right now in a new monitor, can I get a mini DP to VGA adapter instead?

Hi, I believe you can get miniDP-VGA adapters yes, but I'm not sure what the quality would be like or if it'd work in your configuration for example. Try contacting the manufacturer to see if they can recommend any tested adapters.
