Corsair Force 3 / Force GT Update

Thread Starter
I'm putting this in here since I am the only source for the update and I am not a recognized news agency ................yet ..... LOL

Corsair Force 3 will be shipped out to NewEgg, TigerDirect and Amazon tomorrow 5/25/2011 .

Those are the first channel partners that had orders places.

The drives that were announced in the May 19th press Release listed below; however:

CSSD-F60GB3-BK: Seems that Corsair is holding off on the 60GB versions to prevent cannibalizing sales of the 120GB & 240GB units.
CSSD-F120GB3-BK
CSSD-F240GB3-BK

The channel will only see CSSD-F120GB3-BK, CSSD-F240GB3-BK (120GB & 240GB) versions.

Side Note: NZ, AU and the Pacific rim may in fact see the 60GB units on June 1st, but the volume available is unknown.

So for anyone looking to get these drives: Mid-next week they should appear in pretty small quantities and will likely be at a premium price .

The Corsair GT has not yet been released from manufacturing and it will be at the very least 2 weeks before they begin surfacing in the wild.

Thank you for posting this. Your credibility is on the line...

I had pre-ordered a 240GB drive from Amazon, and I could swear that they just changed their status to from "Not yet released" to "Temporarily out of stock". I assume that they had more pre-orders than they number of drives that they will actually receive. Either that or I have gone crazy waiting for this thing.

Too bad about the 60GB version, was really looking forward to getting one in the next couple weeks.

Amazon just put up their out-of-stock buy page. talk about PRICE RAPE !

"... at a suggested retail price of $139 USD for the 60GB model, $219 USD for the 120GB model and $499 USD for the 240GB model..."

+ $270 OVER MSRP??????

Ughh....... And thats "Ships and sold by Amazon" not some 3rd part scalper too.

Hope thats just a price typo and meant to be the pricing for the 240GB Model.

Definition: According to Princeton's Wordnet, news is defined as "information about recent and important events".

Things that might fall into this category are:
An announcement about a new game
Intel/AMD's latest roadmap
A new record overclock.
These are all things that either were not heard of before, elaborate on or confirm things we thought might happen, or are otherwise important for an overclocker to know.

Things that might not be considered news:
Anything that is not from a reputable source (reputable sources being any of the plethora of News/Review sites out there, a company rep, official email, etc)
Retailer sourcing
Anything relating to your personal hardware. This includes, but is not limited to, unsubstantiated rumors, your personal experience with something, information from a source that cannot be confirmed, etc.
Video Game Reviews
A good question to ask yourself is "If somebody else told me this and then told me the source, could I reasonably believe it?" If the answer is no, this is probably because your source is not trustworthy enough for the type of material they are reporting.

How is this not News related 45nm?

1) Product announced being killed (not even making it to market) days after the press release w/o a corresponding PR .

2) Price gouging or hopefully a typo.

3) Advance notification of where/when/who will carry said products.

4) Its in "Rumors and Unconfirmed Articles" not in a main news forum.

Is this 32nm or 25nm? I've just started to dislike 25nm drives since it hasn't matured yet. They offer more storage but a shorter life which isn't worth the higher price tag.

Based on what they have put out with regard to their product numbers and IC designation the Force 3 appear to be 34nm parts.

CSSD-F120-GB3-BK

CSSD-F240-GB3-BK

All of their products with a 25nm nand have a "-A" product number designation and they have put out statements to that effect also after the OCZ 34nm->25nm switcharoo - Bait-N-Switch storm.
