I felt GTA IV wasn't very creative, trying to duplicate real life isn't really creative. I felt the characters and story were boring. The detail was good, originality? I'll give you that since nobody is really trying to compete with a realistic crime game. Saints Row series is far more original. Saints Row blends reality with arcade.

Detail? Graphics? Okay. Fair enough.

Creativity and originality? Not a chance. Departure from the last GTA? Maybe, but creativity and originality in consideration only between GTAIV and SR2? Not a chance.
I never finished GTA IV, story was awful, San Andreas was the best by far if you ask me.

You lost all credibility with that statement. SR is awesome, yes; But GTA did all that crap back in 2004.

GTA had apochi fists? purple dildos? cars that shoot people? random activities like tanks? jets? airstrikes? burning out? cool combos with posing at the end? make girls dance by hopping around air smacking? novelty johnny gat heads? power by kanye west music trailer? ability to customize character? furry kitty pirates in space?

GTA had dildos, tanks, jets, and Apaches before Saints Row. The rest are arbitrary specifics. It's really funny that you say GTA IV's story was crap when you're defending Saints Row. GTA IV's story was like an interactive movie. Long, a few choices here and there, funny and memorable characters, and lots of plot twists. Saints Row is 5 hours of Jack-Ass stunts.

Yep, Volition is pretty much just awesome.

It was tons better, or is playing as a cab driver part time criminal fun? I like Saints Row 1's plot of being saved from death by some guy then to return the favor join his gang and help rise to the top. As well as Saint Row 2's story of being driven to the ground from a coma and gang non existent, so now you have to remake the saints and slowly work your way back to the top.

I own both Saints Row 2 and GTA IV, but I've only finished SR2, and played it over at least once and just messed around in co-op for countless hours. I think I got to maybe the 10th mission or so in GTA IV, the rest of the time playing it has been running around with the Carpocalyse tweak on. The problem, I think, is that Saints Row 2 knows what I want to feel when playing a video game, and GTA IV does not. When playing an open world crime video game, I want to feel like a total badass who doesn't give two ****s about anyone but his gang and himself. Saints Row 2 starts off with you busting out of prison, escaping on a boat while shooting down helicopters with a mounted machine gun, then has you bust Johnny out of a courtroom, shooting anything that moves. Then you claim a new HQ and recruit some new members. GTA IV has you... drive a car back and forth for like 4 missions or so and go on a date with some lady you just met. I'm sure I'd get that "oh man I'm a badass" feeling from GTA IV at some point, but it just drags on and on and on. Saints Row 2 knows what I want and serves it up with extra sides right from the get-go, and keep serving me. It looks like that's what Saints Row: The Third is going to do, which is why I'm pre-ordering this baby as soon as possible.

I understand that some people would prefer the slower build-up of story that GTA IV has, I probably would depending on my mood, but Saints Row 2 is fun all of the time.
