Have you yet to see the many other source engine games use havoc? Half life 2 used a simple version of havoc, it may be good in controlled situations, but it is not the best engine to replicate Newtonian physics by a long shot. If you don't believe me, try and make a complex ship in garrysmod without unifying everything to avoid collisions(Parenting) I hope PhysX will still have it's uses, it is for sure better than havoc.

Nvidia killed it from the beginning. If they would have been generous with its usage, i think it could of went along way. I dont think PPU in general is dead, but physx maybe dead.

I think it's doing better than it has. I bought the Ageia PPU before nVidia bought them and it was probably the biggest waste of $100 that I can recall. I paired it with an 8800 GTS and it wouldn't work normally in anything except the Ageia demos. In Unreal Tournament 3 I had terrible framerates on the PhysX maps, and that was really the only game I had that supported PhysX at the time. Now I have a Superclocked GTX 580 with a GTS 250 as a dedicated PhysX card and it tears through the 8 or so games I have that support hardware PhysX. Arkham Asylum with 3D Vision and PhysX enabled is by far the best looking game I've ever played.

Phasing out? Some-what.

Even if it's a slow going rate, Nvidia still going to implement PhysX on games that they think are worthy. 90% sure Arkham City will have PhysX.

I only use physx when i go to Nvidia control panel and change Physx processing from video card to the cpu, so i can do some 3DMark runs

Mirror's edge had some pretty decent physx implementation, But I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the world who freaking loves that game.

Well I remember reading an article that nvidia is planning on updating PhysX, so currently, yea I think it is dying out, hopefully the update will sort of revive it, as I sort of like physX.

I freaking love that game too.
The sound track is amazing, if you don't already have it.

I think the if Physx was opened up and not such an exclusive niche, it might start to take off a little more than it has. I thought about buying a physx card at one point, but Mass Effect 1 was the only game i own that even implements it so i didn't even bother.
