Dirt 3 owns my 6990 - Page 4

Held around 50-60, 60-90 w. Crossfire 5770's (1600x900). Sounds a bit odd, and it is not like your system is held back at all... Maybe your memory, but that is a major maybe. But at the same time your res is almost six times mine....

My GTX460 is not looking good then...
Dirt 2 wasn't as demanding as this sounds!

Its a bug with cockpit view and crossfire set ups, everyone whose getting low fps with a dual gpu card try the behind car view and your fps will increase dramatically. I get over 80 fps avg everything ultra 8xAA with my cards in behind the car view then in cockpit view it drops into the 20's. Looks like a patch or a new CAP is needed.

I played it for a few hours last night on an i7 2600k at 4.4 ghz and a stock clocked GTX 460 768mb and it was fine. Used the *high* preset at 1080p and never noticed any problems. I ran the Ultra benchmark at the same res and it was soplid at 29 fps vsync off.

So far I've been getting 55-60fps at 1920x1080, 4xAA and Ultra settings with my HD5970 at stock settings.. The latest CAP does not support DiRT3 at this point, so I expect some improvements over time, exactly as we saw with DiRT2 when it first came out.

If you're having crossfire performance issues and can't wait, you could remove CCC2 and run RadeonPro to control crossfire profiles and ati tray tool or msi afterburner for freq/voltage.. more complex but provides more control, and you don't have to wait for a profile if you can tune one yourself.

It's you.. Definitely an improvement over DiRT2 -- both graphically and in driving feel, making it easily the best rally title available.

Whew... You dispelled both of my fears! I am ready to get this rig done so I can play it
