LCD-LED Sony HX800 3D ?

Someone was offering to give me their TV for $500 (they are moving). They've had it for a few months, it's in near perfect condition. Do you think this deal is worth it? Have better technologies emerged since this released last year?

It sounds like a killer deal but I just want to make sure. This will be my first TV purchase that isn't a standard LCD / monitor. I definitely like the 3d option too but am pretty naive to the HDTV world... always been more of a gamer.

I did a fair amount of reading in the last few months regarding TV. Just the fact that the TV is 55 inch, is 3D and is also a LED makes this a great deal for only 500$. Just make sure its 1080p, and you've got yourself a nice TV.

To be honest also, you need to watch some HD programming to make up your mind also. I know with some LCD's even LED's that there is some type of shadow effect with some fast movements, (sports, action movies)... my eyes really get anoyed with this...

Some LCD\\LED's are much more better at this then others.....

The best for movements, nice colors and black colors is is Plasma.

However LCD\\LED's are better with power consumption\
o possible screen burn in so you can leave a static image (window desktop) for a VERY long time without concern of burn in. They also support standard PC screen resolutions for PC's (however this is easily adjustable on Plasma) also most company's are going with LCD and LED's and stoped making plasma's.

thats my 2C, but for the price, that's a good deal for sure

Thanks for your help! I was told the TV is still under warranty and they're also including the 3D bundle (2 pairs of glasses and a transmitter?) that came with it. I think I'll go ahead and tell them I'll take it. I read some reviews about it and it seems like people still have good things to say about it.

That is one heck of a deal and you're getting the glasses too! I wouldn't pass on it myself.

I own the 40" one and would never sell it under $500 as of now. Probably has problems considering that tv sells for $1500ish without glasses. Look elsewhere.

I Have that 3D tv. Bought it at best buy came with a free ps3.

Some insight on it, the 3D sensor is awkward and the tv speakers sometimes sound good.

Gaming - PS3 - YES
Blu-ray -AMAZING
Gaming - X360 - YES
Speed of Menu - Sometimes Slow
Turn anything into 3D with the 3D button - still needs some time to get tinkered with.

I will say this, it produces allot of heat for some reason, not exactly sure but my room stays really really warm and that will be only thing on.

Have any questions or need me to check anything or test out something ill let you know, just message me
