beep code question

i have the asus p8p67 pro and it does not come with a mobo speaker, aparently one of the things i bought came with one, and when i did a newegg rma i sent the speaker with the mobo, it was broken anyway, but if i want to hear the beep codes, do i need a speaker?

If your board has a debug LED then maybe no depends on the error but if you would like to get one if you have issue and the debug doesn't show anything [ame="http://www.amazon.com/PC-Internal-Mini-Onboard-Speaker/dp/B002W4M0DW"]here[/ame] is a cheap replacement.
