Mouse rate changer windows 7

I'm sure this has been brought up before but i didnt search the forums.
Trying to change my mouse rate on my mx518 and the fix posted doesnt work. It disabled the usb port that i tried it on but the others are still working fine.
I have windows 7 64bit with the asus maximus iv extreme. Are there any other fixes out there or any suggestions? Thanks ocn.

The sticky says that the polling rate for the MX518 is locked at 125Hz, but I don't know if it is really impossible to change it. HIDUSBF and Windows 7 can be tricky to get working together. I think I was able to get mine working by signing HIDUSB.sys in addition to HIDUSBF.sys. The instructions only say to sign HIDUSBF.sys.

I've over clocked 518 on windows xp...

I'm scared to try it again i don't want to disable another port.

I think I helped someone who had the same dead port problem by suggesting that they stick a device into it and manually try to install the HIDUSB.sys driver through the device manager.

He says he got it to work, but I don't know how.

I don't know who stated that, but it's wrong. Fixing right now.

Navigate to same place as in pic of registry, mouse speed is over on right default is 1, 2 like mine doubles the speed and 4 quadruples it.

Thats the only one I change as my mouse speed is slow even with it set max speed in the control panel thinngy

Hope that helps cheers.gif
