Old display not working with new mobo and cpu

Thread Starter
I just bought the ASUS P8H67-M Evo and the i7-2600K along with several other parts for a new computer.

After setting it up, the computer turns on and appears to be working properly, but every video connection (vga, dvi, hdmi) method we've used has not worked. The monitor will just be on and have a flashing power light when plugged in. We've tried both the mobo's onboard video card and a separate video card. Nothing works.

There is no problem with the monitor, but something is wrong with the mobo or cpu.

Please advise.

Those boards actually had a relatively high defective rate. I would toss in a dedicated card, cheap little buggar just to test with, and if it works, go into EFI and see if it might be a BIOS setting for onboard.

If the dedicated works, and no settings that you see of, it probably is a bad board. If card does not work, there is potential for it to be the board or CPU. Hard to tell not knowing in detail what happened or watching to make sure nothing went awry.

Good luck though! Process of elimination!
