Can it run Minecraft? $2000-$3000 budget - Page 4

Thread Starter
Yes, the build is pending and nothing is bought. If the build was for me, I would go for an i5-2500k and SLI 580 and definitely not 16GB RAM nor the H70 lol. I just talked to him earlier and I asked him if he wanted a triple monitor setup and he said yes, so I have temporarily changed the graphics cards to 2x6950 2GB. He is in love with the looks of the haf x, doesn't seem interested in a custom water loop as of now, and also wants 16gb ram for whatever reason

The reason I had the cooler master 800w is because there is a combo with the haf X with a $50 discount. I'll change the other stuff when I get on my computer (on my iPod touch right now)

Thanks for the suggestions!

At 5760x1080, should I get 6950 CFX, 6970 CFX, 570 SLI, 580 3GB, or 6990? Also any recommendations for monitors?

And in two years when I will ever need to upgrade, how will it be any different for a single 580?

Fixed...

But yes, 2x 580 3gb cards in SLI will be extremely future proofed. Nothing has even close to the same amount of accessible Vram, and if you were to leave open the option of Tri-SLI, then a 3rd sucka in the future would be phenominal!

Edit: Also, what would you use all those thumb buttons for!
Show him the CM Sentinal Advanced, or the R.A.T 3/5/7 from Saitek, or a Logitech Gaming mouse!

Look for the G15 as well, it should be going cheap as they are phasing them out... Pic below..

If you are going to spend $100+ on a keyboard...get a Mechanical (real) keyboard.

If you're going to do CFX 6950s or 6970s, go with a single 3GB 7970! They've got some amazing benchmarks, plus it'll leave you much more available to upgrade in the future. As for the RAM situation, you mentioned he wants to run a Minecraft server, and depending on how big that server may be, the RAM is totally necessary.
