Well..Apple stated that the tracking was a bug (or at least it was reported that way...who knows because everyone paraphrases everything lately) but they fixed the "bug" by just limiting the amount of time it stores but not eliminating the storing completely.

Edit: You and PapaSmurf should start a smurf club

I'd call it as close to perfect as it was going to get before it's release date. And even now, it's still pretty damn stable (I have yet to upgrade to SP1 so still talking about base). No BSOD that are unaccounted (I only got them when I was getting my overclock 100% stable and haven't had one since). No issues when doing anything in Windows. Even now, I'm running at 15 days uptime with no issues and before that...I think I was at 45 days uptime. That also includes game installations (BC2 as the latest as well Brink, and a few others), software installations, etc.

If it was not mean to track anything then why did apple store users data?

The majority of you are morons. You have proven once again that OCN needs a maturity test to allow users to join.

Apple never said "we don't have viruses/malware".. They have said they don't have the thousands that PC does, which.. IS TRUE! LE gasp. It's only people like you who perpetuate the myth that OSX has no virus'/malware.

But of course, I will be flamed just because this is too complex of a concept..

No, it was in response to an internal memo. Apple HQ told the Apple genius staff to not remove or accept there was malware (Mac Defender) once customers brought their plagued computers to the Apple store.

And I wasn't talking about that. lol

However, they didn't do it for liabilities sake. They haven't had to deal with this before really, so they needed to setup the protocol for removing it.

Maybe because the Apple genius staff weren't trained to remove malware because "macs don't get malware"? Apple wants people to think it's just another "bug" ? The last thing Apple would want to admit is their perfect OS is not impervious to malware.

The thing with apple is that their business model is based purely around advertising and reputation. So whenever something goes wrong it is a direct blown to their business model, and as such they talk out of their a** to convince their zombified fanboy customers that nothing is wrong.

I really despise apple's tactic of not telling the customers what they want, but rather what apple decides they want.
