What Case Should I Get?

Thread Starter
I'm looking for the best:

-aluminum (or better material)
- full tower case
- silent fans? (i'd probably end up throwing in some ready-made liquid cooling for a GTX sli'd 580 setup + sandy bridge 2600k overclocked)
- transparent side view
- USB 3.0 ports??? (do any cases come with these)

Overall, i'd like it to look cool (not going with a fully opaque case), but the priority is for the build quality / versatility to be the best.

I have a pretty large budget, say ~$400.

Before, i go and look for a case for ya i would like to know how wide you would want the case to be.

1. 400 isnt a very large budget, especially for a WCing case and you dont need to spend a lot for a good case, especially if your just starting out. i would say go with a cheaper case, its better to get a $50.00 case and then buy another case later after you have gotten more into the enthusiast scene
2. are you going to be watercooling or do you mean like h50 style?
3. fans- your best bet is to get some aftermarket fans and put them in
4. a lot of cases now come with usb 3.0
5. side panel window

No real preference. I don't care if it's a gargantuan. Something that can fit this:

I wouldn't be doing a custom water cooling rig. Just the already-made liquid cooling setups. Which fans / how many would you suggest if I were to use liquid cooling as well.

Can he get the TH-10 for $400? I thought they cost more than that?

You can get the Lian Li v2120 for $400, or a Silverstone TJ-07, and definitely a Caselab M8 or M10. I'd probably go with Caselab out of the ones I suggested.

There's MountainMod too, but between MM and CaseLab, go with the latter.

Depends on the size and function of the fans. If you are going with 120mm fans overall, get the Gentle Typhoons for radiators and Silverstone AP-12 or Scythe Slipstream for case airflow.

If you're gong with 140mm fans overall, go for Thermalright's Ty-140 fans.

The above only apply if you want a good balance of performance and low noise though. If you want all out performance, look into 38mm 3k-5k rpm fans like Sanyo Denki and Delta.
