I just got these in the mail and they came in so fast. Like less than 2 days I think. But anyways I stuck them in and booted fine with them at their rated speeds. I enabled the X.M.P. just to see what it would automatically give them and it seems the VCCIO voltage is still only at 1.05v. Have not had a blue screen yet, but I haven't fully stressed them or used memtest yet. But it seems Sandy Bridge will allow for higher speed memory without such huge QPI/VTT voltage increases. (just got my first sandy i5) I will come back and reply with my final settings and voltages and I should be playing around a bit trying to see how they OC and if the timings will tighten up etc.
Great deal! I first bought Corsair Dominator 1600 cas 8 2x2Gb kit for 80 bucks (with 20 dollar rebate, but haven't redeemed it yet) and I saw this deal and I couldn't pass it up. The dominators were 1.65 voltage stock so I figured 1866 at 1.5 is pretty good. I actually decided to give the Dommys to my friend for his birthday since he needs some aftermarket memory for his new computer. Plus he has a socket 1156 and the 1.65v will go better with his setup.
I will miss the Doms... they are much better stylish wise, but these new Gskills are low profile. I do like Gskill a lot though since I first purchased from them they have really proven themselves. I am hoping since these are 1.5 at 1866 that they will do 2133 with some extra voltage. If anyone else knows from experience let me know please! I am also going to try and search for some reviews. Don't pass this deal up! Free 2Gb drive and the price of a high quality 4gb kit. Plus these must be high binned or high quality chips if they do 1866 at only 1.5. Don't think twice if you could use new ram!
(sorry for the wall)
