Replacements for damaged, defective, or lost Microsoft software or hardware To request replacement hardware or software, contact the Microsoft Supplemental Parts team at the appropriate contact number that is provided in the"Contact Information" section. You must be in possession of the product (if it is damaged or defective) and be able to provide proof of purchase. The customer service representative will advise you of any replacement costs or shipping and handling fees that may be charged. If a product is no longer under warranty, the replacement item may no longer be available.

Yes, completely legal. Those of us with MSDN and Technet subs can download an ISO and burn it to a DVD. No different.

It is legal to download software you have a lisence for from a variety of authorised mediums, FTP, P2P, etc...

However, with regards to discussion on how to do so this is not allowed due to the simple fact that if OCN does not allow the discussion on how to download copyrighted software.

If the person owned a lisence for the software, be it a game, a program, or OS, would asking where to download it via torrents on the software's own support forums be allowed? No it certainly wouldn't.

The opening poster is more than welcome to try asking over at the technet forums on how to obtain a downloadable copy of XP via P2P.

With this in mind this thread is closed.
