There's always the option of the Xonar essence ST (PCI bus), but I'm honestly unaware how it compares to the basic xtreme gamer since it can possibly to swing either way with a game as old as 1.6.

You should have someone that owns both a Oxygen (Xonar) and XFI chip to do a small comparison for you before you make a decision.

Well, I mostly play CS1.6 but also bulletstorm and some CoD with unvi./IDF[army] friends, but I play some..but MOSTLY CS1.6

BF2 I dont like TBH..it was boring gameplay and I delete it the middle / after some MP servers, Also, Since I saw the videos about the BF3 that comes out this year (and I really like it!), I'm afraid that it will not perform great like the others says in the case of BF2.

It will be really nice to see command/s from someone/s that tried both XtremeGamer and ST/STX/D2X for gaming.

COD(Modded Quake III) /CS1.6 (goldsrc, Modded Quake1) /Battlefield 2 (X-FI endorsed game) are most likely going to perform better on native X-FI cards.

As much as I don't want to recommend what seems outdated to a Xonar D1/DS, you might be a tad happier with a PCI bus Xtreme gamer/Music. I previously used a XFI Titanium until it died and did notice some loss in positional cues while switching to the newer (and much cheaper) Xonar DG, but I don't believe it effected my overall gameplay once I got used to it.

Edit: For what it's worth this little DG might look like a cheapo card, but it can seriously hold it's own for gaming use. I mean I intended on replacing it with the new Creative Titanium HD once I got some cash, but I think I'll be able to hold out until this card starts giving me problems. I know you told me you couldn't find the DG, but it's just something to consider in the xonar vs xfi debate.

Oh that's nice to hear.
Acutally, I just found the Asus Xonar DG for 72USD [including express shipping]..so, you say that this is my best choice for gaming and PCI connectors?

I hope you meant DX, cuz a DG at 72USD would be highway robbery.

Shipping to israel with express costs actully more than the item iteself [Xonar DG] [ship from USA].

But as far as that item is really great for gaming and good alternative for Creative, I can even pay more..
I always says "for [high] quality, Need to pay." (sounds lame in english, in hebrew is alot better )

But again..buying th DG instead of buying the Xterme Gamer for games is better decide ?

72 USD for a DG is extremely overpriced. Better off looking for a D1/DS at a comparable price.

Can you list off the prices of cards you can get? We may be able to help you better.
