Cutting Ram Heatsinks - Need Help/advice

Hey Guys,
Im in the process of modifying a nzxt phantom to hold a rX360 Rad just above the mobo. The problem i have come into is that my Gskill ram heatsinks are too tall for me to fit a fan pushing through the middle part of the rad. so i have two possible options that i can think of.

Cut two of the fins on the top part of the gskill trident ram heatsinks on each of the 6x 2Gig chips. - lots of room for things to go wrong

or

dont have any fan pushing and just have a pull in the middle section of the rad.

push/pull - pull - push/pull would def be safer to do.

what do you think?

I'd try to mount it without the 3rd fan before I cut the RAM heat spreaders. That will void the warranty and possibly damage your chip. IIRC the tridents should have 2 little screws holding on the heat spreaders if you are dead set on that, but personally I'd sooner sell them and purchase a different type of ram with a low profile heat sink before I damage them and void my warranty

not worth the headache, if you damage them while cutting you wont be able to return them, leaving 1 fan out will have minimal difference.

after almost cutting my finger off today i think im definatly gonna just leave the fan out and keep the ram.

pro tip, dont try and catch a dremel if you drop it while its still on max speed with a metal cutting disc attached. end result = stitches
