Windows 7 installs slow

Thread Starter
I installed a new sata hard drive to replace my old 80gb. I start the instillation and before i get to the languge selection, it goes super slow about 5-10 mins. Once i get passed it, when installing it takes about 1-2 hours. This never happened with my old hard drive. Any help?

You may need to load the controller driver into Windows before the install. Just select load driver, select the driver (from CD if you have your mobo cd) and see if that works?

tryed what u said and it didnt work, went into load driver and popped in the mobo cd and it didnt detect any drivers. Also i dont really understand how that was ganna fix the slow speed it has.

i look up some info and it says to disable the floppy drive and it will fix the problem but i did that and it still continues to have the same problem.

edit:

got it to work by disabling the floppy and setting the hard drive to AHCI.
