[JG] Super Flower Golden Green 1300W power supply review

The Super Flower Golden Green put out 1300W of power and did so while still being very efficient. The unit met the advertised 80 Plus Gold certification claims. Ripple and noise wasn't perfect, but it was very, very low. Acoustic noise was low too. The +12V regulation was very good showing only a 1.5% drop, but the +3.3V and +5V were somewhat disappointing, especially considering their relatively low combined output capability of only 120W. Over all I'm giving the Super Flower Golden Green 1300W a 9.5 for performance.

Another great unit from Super Flower! Note to North American readers, you'll probably never see a Super Flower unit in our market, however a number of more familiar companies, such as NZXT, Kingwin, Sentey and even Rosewill have been using Super Flower Golden Green units in their Hale90 and Lazer Gold lines of products (respectively), so we might soon see this 1300W unit under a more familiar guise.

Too bad you'll never ever ever need that sort of power.

SuperFlower has taken over the title of Best PSU manufacturer from Seasonic.

Kingwin is set to release higher wattage units of their Superflower designed Platinum Series later on this year.

We're in for some real treats, but the prices for North America will be steep as with the Kingwin 550w on Newegg.

Yeah, I'm running a ABS SL1050 in my SR-2 but if I ever put more GPU's or higher powerful ones in mine, it would probably require a bigger one. Not many people would need it though, but it does have an audience. Mine is overkill for what I have in mine atm, but 3-4x 580's instead of my little 460's would probably push it over the limit.

I don't care if it has a big pink unicorn on it, as long as it hold up to its specs and surpass the ratings and specifications, i don't care.
Also, does not blow up on me, that's important.

Fixed. These high wattage PSUs are for people who run high end rigs. I rather have more wattage than I need than less of it.

OT: After seeing the funky name, I was anticipating a funky color scheme.
