Need new speakers

I've had my old insignia's forever, time for a change. I want a surround sound setup! I found some Logitech X530's at Walmart, are they any good? What are my options? Max budget would be about $100.

Do you game, watch videos, listen to music (internet radio or mp3's), or a bit of all? That will have something to do with the type of speaker you choose.

Yeah all of the above.

PCMag has an interesting guide that you can use to narrow down based on budget and such. It can be found here. I have some $35 Altec Lansings which I am happy with but I see they have a different AL model that they have selected as as an "Editors Choice".

Also, I have heard that BOSE has a decent pair of speakers as well and I have also been looking at testing them out. I have heard that they are good but I subscribe to the old saying of "Hearing is believing" (Ok... it's "seeing" instead of hearing...). I believe Best Buy has them and they may set them up for you to listen to.

What do you think of the Logitech X-530's? The bass had to hit hard and the speakers have to have some quality. I want a 5.1 setup, but not willing to spend over $100

Get a CSW or creative gigaworks second hand. No need to bother with logicrap, even z5500 is not that good.

i have a set of the original X530s (non-square sub) and they are ok for the price and for what they are.....
Mine is good all round (for its price) and has better bass than the later model (apparently)

I actually made a thread about this with about the same budget and these are the general response I got. My budget is slightly higher but here you go. So far i've read two reviews on the Eagle set and they actually seam to do quite well for the price tag that comes with them. If you can manage to get an extra bit of money I would definitely recommend getting the Swan M10s. They look beautiful and they are a great set of speakers.
Klipsch Promedia 2.1 $149.99

M10 $119.00

Eagle ET-AR506-BK $69.99
