But I'm done, continue to wallow in your ignorance.
Just because you're an engineer doesn't mean you're right... at all. NDAs prohibit the release of information regarding the release date after a product is announced, not the launch quarter. And using age as an argument automatically undermines anything you have to say.

Now stop arguing over this because the thread will be closed.

What I will say, though, is that if this is true, this is horrible news for AMD. People are getting pretty tired of waiting for Bulldozer. Personally, if BD isn't here by August, my money is going to Intel.

What's more this press release seems more about Vision than the FX chips, in fact I can't see any mention of FX anywhere on it? Looks like they're big upping Llano to me.
I know man, I actually already posted it as a News Thread and then Iceman caught the fact that there was no mention about Bulldozer anywhere on that site, and I searched around and couldn't find anything. It's all about Fusion.

Computex was supposed to be the big reveal for Bulldozer.

http://www.blogphotovideo.com/hardwa...r-release-date See all rumors
In your first link, RumorPedia was accurate, because they did in fact reveal the release date as Q2 at their annual Financial Analyst Day:
http://blogs.amd.com/work/2010/11/09...l-analyst-day/

Also, it could be a number of things as to why it's delayed, but have we heard anything official from AMD?

Stop trying to argue this. You know what you're saying makes no sense.
You keep telling people to stop arguing, but you are ALWAYS arguing any and every point, every chance you get. Don't forget that AMD has confirmed very little about BD officially.

Let's just have a civil conversation about it, without getting the thread locked.

It would be nice if there was more information on Bulldozer that comes straight from AMD, but that information is few and far between. And thus, it leads to all these flame and speculation threads.

Yes, it's crucial to release that information. But that information is released as an announcement by the company, and is not fully disclosable by any AMD employee who has that knowledge, the second they have that knowledge. Either you're just trolling or completely ignorant.
Exactly. AMD is not releasing ANY official information, all people have to go on is RUMORS. Heck, even their own employees are not fully up to date on things. I'm not sure if this the right stand for a company to be so secretive about their upcoming products, because clearly it is causing a lot of confusion with their potential customers. A lot of people are getting frustrated. I'm doing my best to give AMD a chance and wait for BD, but my patience is wearing thin, and I know I'm not alone.

It has already led to a lot of people to "jump ship" per se, and if it doesn't get released in June, I'm sure a lot of people will get tired of waiting and just go Sandy Bridge.

Intel already has 80% of the market, AMD needs to smarten up.

Exactly my point. It's how many feel as well.

Let's just keep it civilized.

Is this really surprising? Thought it was already known BD won't be in stores till Q3 due to Global Foundries delays.

surely you got a source to back up that claim?

Last I heard, everything was on track:

The first desktop Bulldozer-based chips code-named Zambezi are expected to be eight-core products with 95W and 125W thermal design power as well as 8MB L3 cache. Later in the second quarter of 2011 AMD, according to sources with knowledge of the company's roadmap, will release six-core chips with 8MB L3 cache and four-core products with 4MB cache. All of the processors will feature TurboCore 2.0 technology, dual-channel DDR3 memory controller with up to 1866MHz memory support and will be compatible with AM3+ mainboards based on AMD 900-series chipsets.

"I visited GlobalFoundries in Dresden in late September. In November I met with their executive staff and their investors at ATIC. At CES I spoke with them again. I have held wafers of 32nm Llano chips and been given assurances from the top management on down that not only is the process running well, its yield ramp is ahead of schedule. AMD is shipping early volume production parts now I am told," said Jon Peddie, the principal analyst at Jon Peddie Research, a technology market tracking firm.

Never heard anything about that.

Anyway, I am going to wait and see what AMD says at Computex. Even if they don't have a keynote about BD it still may be a topic at the press conference.
If AMD doesn't release BD by June 30th, I am going Intel. They have until the end of Q2 to get my money.

This is the first time I hear this. Do you have a source?

I love how people say this like a threat. AMD always has and always will make their money off of OEM and mainstream purchases. Llano will be their cash cow. One angry enthusiast "going Intel" doesn't hurt them.

The reason Intel has that huge revenue stream is because of their "jingle" and "Intel Inside" marketing. They don't care if an OCN member buys their product or AMD's.
