performance difference sli 450 or 560

Thread Starter
Right now i have two gts 450 in sli overclocked to 925/1900/2000 and im getting pretty good performance out of them. I was just wondering how that performance compares to a gtx560 overclocked of course, would there be any performance difference, none at all, or would they be about the same?

Get a game like Crysis and compare benchmarks.
I really can't say, i coulodn't find this specific comparison, as GTS450 sli aren't that famous it seems, but you can see some benches on the GX560 Ti DirectCU II here

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-560-ti-roundup-asus-engtx560-graphics-card-overclocking,2858-16.html

My guess is that either the SLI wins, or stay toe-to-toe smile.gif

SLI 450's are actually about the same speed as the GTX470, which is in turn around the same speed as a GTX560ti. I've not seen benchies of the non-Ti version, but it seems likely to me that you'd end up w/a small decrease in perf (speaking of avg fps) if you switched to it.

However, at lower FPS, single GPU solutions usually feel 'smoother' due to the microstutter effect that is common at low FPS with multi-GPU setups. To use numbers to illustrate, a game at 30fps on a single GPU is usually pretty playable, but a SLI setup running at 30fps will often 'feel' pretty laggy.

Because of this effect, it seems probable to me that your max playable settings either wouldn't change, or may possibly go up slightly if you were to do this switch.

EDIT:
Also, Tada, we have a 24-hour rule when it comes to thread bumping on OCN (the bump post has been deleted).

I'd suggest buying one 560Ti first, then save up for another. Regular 560's aren't worth it imho.

Regular 560s are pretty much a 460 optimized for higher clocks.
