OCZ Vertex 3 - around $280 with promotion and CA tax
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-714-_-Product

Intel 510 -around $300 with CA tax
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820167042

seems like OCZ is faster but has high fail rate compared to Intel. Which is a better option ? I will use it as boot.

GO with the OCZ. The Sandforce controller is superior to the Marvell controller used in the Intel 510

CA tax comes out to $283 which is still a good deal. This is a stupid questions but I dunno so ima ask anyways. What is Sandforce controller and Marvell controller? Is it a bios setup or physical ports?

If I had read about the Intel 510 before buying, I would have gone with the Vertex 3. It is a superior drive, by all performance metrics that I've seen anyway.

I just went with Intel because I liked my previous X-25Ms. Dumb move on my part.
