Wow..... Alright.

So then we have these possibilities.

1. Bad RAM (most likely)

2. Bad Memory Controller (unlikely, but it's possible, it would also suck)

3. Edit - Forgot to include incorrect timings and or voltage.

If it's anything else... I consider this an amazing learning experience.

An amazing learning experience sounds like the best possible outcome (and the cheapest). I just wanna get the rig back up and folding. Also the hdd scan is running now.

Edit: the scan is done and says "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violation."

Looks like I'm headed into bios to dick around for a little.

How can you be so sure?

Edit: Well after messing around in bios and dicking around w/ the ram timings I finally got it to boot. Apparently the stock timings of 7-7-7 wouldn't even boot, so I set them to 8-8-8 and apparently that did the trick (would make sense b/c that's the recommended timings on the ram). Seems a little to anticlimactic of an end to this problem.

Thanks to everyone that threw info and suggestions my way.

This is why I <3 OCN. People that are much smarter than me in the area of troubleshooting are always willing to help.

Well now I'm even more confused: if this started 5 months ago (let's just pretend it started yesterday since you haven't had time to mess with it until now), then what caused the timings to go back to 7-7-7?

Either way though, I'm extremely glad it worked. I just apologize for not recommending it. Looking back, I'm not sure why I didn't.
