Making the best out of my system?

Hi guys,

I have what I think is a pretty good system here in my hands, but I don't think I am getting maximum performance out of it. I want to make the best out of this system, but I do not want to increase my electricity bill significantly.

So, can you guys tell me how I can make the most out of this system? BIOS Settings, possibly overclocking my CPU, RAM voltage, frequency, so on and so forth, what should my settings, my configurations be, to get the most out of this build. If it helps, just think of it this way: what would you do if you had this system to make the most out of it?

Thank you

What are your daily uses?

You could Overclock that X4 965 to 3.8Ghz easily, but then again, you're not going to see any general speed improvement in your computer if that's what you're looking for.

I'd juts keep it as it is.

Increasing ram and cpu voltage make minimal difference toward's your electric bill, I'd say it's mainly your gpu that eats up the power when overclocked/ overvolted.

So a slight OC on both cpu and gpu would be good if you didn't have to increase voltage too much.

keep c&q and c1e on
they will downclock and undervolt the cpu when idle

let it spin down the hdd and turn off the monitor when idle for ~5-10minutes
sleep/standby after ~15-30 minutes

and turn if off when not in use

I OC'd it up to 3.8GHz right now, and am running stable with a 1.4V on the Vcore. Thanks Kevin.

On the other hand, one thing which is getting to me right now is my startup speed. It's quite slow considering my system. Perhaps it is time for a format, but any ideas on this front? I don't really have that much opening up on startup, but for some reason it takes quite a while.
