Price/Performance

I'd like only 1 drive, because frankly, I'm too lazy to set up a RAID or a storage drive.

Now here's the question: For the price, and coming from probably the slowest drive in the past 3 years (yeah, really), would a Velociraptor 300gb be more worth it to me than an SSD?

Considering by the end of next year or 2013, SSD's will probably be down in price substantially, is it worth the performance even if it's kind of pushing my budget?

Serious question, I want to know if they're actually THAT good.

Consider a WD caviar black or a samsung f3, reliable and fast.

The Velociraptor's aren't worth it anymore, they're not much faster then modern drives but they cost a premium

I haven't actually paid attention to real-world specs in so long, that when I decided to build one I was way in over my head, haha.

I was going to use a Caviar Black as a storage anyways, they seem to definitely get the job done.

Also, SUPER OT, but price/performance for AMD vs. Intel?
