What sound card should i get?

I have z323 speakers
I have creative wow headset(usb headset so no benefit)
i got some 40$ big huge headphones i never use.. lol JVC HA-RX700 i think
and some sony mdr v 150s


what sound card should i get? also are refurb sound cards any good? got like 40-50$ budget

I just posted this in any thread, but will do so here again. I downgraded from the STX to the Xonar DS ($37 shipped) refurb and was unable to notice any significant audible difference between the two cards. Since your headphones do no need amping, the card will provide exceptional audio quality at a very affordable price point.

DS does not.

i just want to say, i use my USB headset when required in vent, i use my speakers when ppl not sleeping for music, and when they r sleeping i use the jvcs or the Creative WoW Headset

Would my JVC's sound better then my 90$ wow headset with a sound card?

yes the headphone is amp is perfect for headsets

With music your not going to hear a difference between the DG and STX. Only time when a difference will start appearing is when you move to 24bit content like multichannel movies etc etc. But not much.

No, they will not benefit from an amp.

No, it doesn't have an amp, but it does have an opamp for the front out jack which does amplify the sound to some extent.

In any event, my HD598s (I don't own them anymore) were fed really well from the DS. Similar to ~64 Ohm setting on the STX.
