BFBC2 what causes game to freeze?

Like my title says what causes the game to freeze? I can be playing for 5mins-2hrs and the game will just randomly lock up sound will loop can't open the task manager(sometimes it just crashs to desktop) and I will have to restart manually. Is it poor coding? Anything I can try?

It could be a couple of things, does your machine crash in any other game? If so check the temp of the card. If it doesn't then it could be a driver issue with your card, try rolling back and see what happens.

It could also be a corrupt install of it, try reinstalling it and see what happens. Check the machine's event logs as well.

Sounds more like an issue with PunkBuster to me. If you're running any GPU monitoring software in the background, ie: Kombuster, Sapphire Trixx, etc. etc. it causes those exact issues you're describing. Disable any and all GPU overclocking utilities and try running the game then

Check your cpu temps, sounds like it's hitting tj max temps around 95C.

Is your cpu oc'ed? If so, then it's unstable.

I have the exact same issue. It only does this when I am running the game on DX11. When I am on DX10, I do not have this issue. I have no idea why.

There is a known issue with GPU monitoring software (afterburner, trixx, etc.). Close any gpu monitoring software you are using and try running the game again. If it still crashes then I'd try disabling any soundcard you may be using.

It sucks, I know. I first dealt with the GPU monitoring bug myself and closing afterburner fixed that. Now I'm getting random crashes to desktop and I still haven't found the solution to this new problem yet.

MY temps while gaming are around 62-74 for the gpu i highly doubt thats overheating and i usually have evga precision or hwmonitor running while playing. It doesn't seem to happen often it happens randomly sometimes I can play for a week and won't see it happen then bam outta nowhere it happens.
