what is your psu? and does it make this whining noise during load or at all times?

what are your specs? telling us would also be helpful

It's most likely just some capacitor whine and I think you can take the card apart and hot-glue gun over them to muffle the whine, but that will certainly void any warranty.

Roll up a piece of paper and listen to where you can year the whine. It could be inductor coils, capacitor causing it, etc. Anyway when you find it, put your finger over top of the noise source and if it muffles the noise, you can fix the problem by hot glue gunning over it. This will void the warranty though.

Otherwise there isn't really any solution and your only choice is RMA where they can re-cap the whole dang thing.

This can also be caused by a dying PSU but if you swapped it already and nothing changed, then the problem is elsewhere.

that's called coil wine. my gtx 560 Ti has it too. this is normal. use clear nail polish if you want to remove it that's what I did
post #7 of 13
Yeah, both nail polish or hot glue will muffle the noise.

Ask your video card manufacturer if doing this will void the warranty though.. They might allow it, they might tell you to just send in an RMA!

You're going to void your warranty if you use any of the above methods.

Either just tune it out with some headphones, or RMA the card. Not much else you can do. Mine only does it when folding or other super specific games/circumstances within games so I just ignore it.
