It doesn't say "Unlock hidden FX Bulldozer CPU cores".
and it dosen't say unlock hidden Phenom II cores does it? My votes for AMD locking cores or cache again if their faulty etc.

^This is what I'm going to do, it all depends really on the price points, if the 8core is out to lunch I'm going with a 6core, if it is reasonable I'll go with the 8core.

*EDIT* Looks like the costs are estimated to be as follows:

AMD FX 4110 4-core cpu 95w - $190.00
AMD FX 6110 6-core cpu 95w - $240.00
AMD FX 8110 8-core cpu 95w - $290.00
AMD FX 8130P 8-core cpu 125w - $320.00

*All costs in USD, us Canadians will get a break it seems

I am pretty sure that this does not mean that you will be able to insert a FX6110 in the MSi Mobo and unlock it to the potential of a FX8130 or even FX8110 with 8-cores all of a sudden.

Like I said, and clearly stated... "I don't know how much validity there is to this".

However, straight from MSI's website:

With just the a single push of a button OC Genie II not only increases your processor and memory speeds, it also unlocks up to 8 CPU cores.

After all, it should only be some $50 more expensive than the Six-Core.
Maybe they won't, maybe they will. We wouldn't know until the chips hit retail. Same as unlockable X2/X3-based Deneb.
While I see your point, all 4 of my handpicked early batch X2 unlock to X4 stable. AMD haven't been able to beat Intel in OC performance, so unlocking is their selling point to me.
If AMD decides that unlockable chips are OEM exclusive (see Thuban), reviews will tell how well BD competes with SB. If BD doesn't live up to the hype, I'd wait for EBD. If it does, FX6 for me.
