i was looking for something that was a long throw sub that i could use this box with.
well from that point it sounds like you want something that is uber cheap and makes loud boom boom noise. having a properly made box to a sub could make those crappy XXX subs you have now sound like a orgy in your ear. if you want something to sound good you need to put some kind of effort into the install other then just replacing the amp and subs or it will just be money wasted into something that isn't up to pare with what you could of done. its still your car but if you plan on keeping it for a while it would be in the best interest to make the best out of it. even if you plan on getting a new one you can still take all this out and transfer it into the new car.

What are the 2 subs costing you including shipping. You know are there are car audio sites where people so sell audio. Don't new with everything and get some better subs/amps. If you the names of a couple sites PM me. Not sure if I can post them up.

I wouldn't go with Boss anything. They just aren't good. The RE's recommended earlier are a nice option, though I would recommend 2 of http://www.audioque.com/Street-Duty-...ofer_p_11.html and a http://www.audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html. You could also 2 http://www.audioque.com/NEW-Street-D...fer-_p_70.html off of a http://www.audioque.com/AQ750-Amplifier_p_46.html. Obviously the first one will be louder, while the second will be cheaper. Both will be better than the boss setup you were looking at, and will wreck the XXX setup.

Now i am not knocking any one right now, just want to restate, these systems look nice, and i am sure they have some precise bass, but what i am looking for (what i have finally decided) is brute force, as long as it does sound half way decant (like i can tell the difference between the bass and a guy on a bike next to me farting).

I might have just landed a job, interview is tomorrow at 10:30.

but yea, i don't know how any of these sound and would love to find out, but i don't and won't have the money to buy all of them, all i do know is that if i can get my xXx subs out and the box in one peace, my father has already spoken up that he wants them in the back of our Subie.

So at this point i am looking for a Decently priced Pair of 12", Dual Voice Coil Subs a Preferably Sealed (????) Box and an amp to power them all.

I am kinda picky so i am going to apologize now

EDIT: on a side note i have little to no trunk space, so this box does need to be kinda small

EDIT 2: My Trunk

Why not go for 10s and not 12s? Since you have limited room? Might even be able to go with ported and get more boom and save space.

Check out:
FI audio
Sundown Audio

Also there is Kenwood sub ( I think pio sold one that is a sq sub that gets plenty boom on it. I seen a couple of those go cheap used. He can comment more on it.)

When I first heard it was a convertible I was thinking of just saying just go with a good single ported 12. If your still going duel 12's then I wouldn't expect any trunk space left.

I thought the Kenwood Subs where like the Sony ones, run away as fast as you can?

i don't actually care about the trunk space, i never use it really, in the pic i put up you can see the only thing that might ever end up in my trunk and that is my snow brush, lol.

my reasoning for two 12"s is that when you drop the top you need the extra kick of the second sub, and the reason i want the 12"s not the 10"s is because of the extra 4" of speaker. the more speaker the more air moved therefore the louder and lower it is right? or like with many things am i miles off?

It might have been Pioneer then :X He just sold it not to long ago.

Also specs will tell you a lot. I can guarantee my idmax 10s will butteff a lot of 12s and move more air then them. It all depends. Gota look at specs.

I think there are companies that make subs that depend on there line up. I personally think most Kenwoods are better then any Sony Xplod, Boss, or Dual. Those 3 have been known to be complete doody. No exceptions. Kenwood is more sub dependent some are Meh, but some are good depending upon price and application. While the other 3 are doody all the time.

now, what about amps though, what are some good names there, all the ones i keep finding are Lanzar, Boss, Planet Audio, and Sound Storm (I know Boss and PA are Crap Already, Pio Made that very clear in our first encounter lol)

just note if you go with more power then this you may need to upgrade your alternator to something larger to keep up with the power draw this my use.
