just note if you go with more power then this you may need to upgrade your alternator to something larger to keep up with the power draw this my use.
The subs i am looking at are 500Watt RMS and can be wired for 1ohm, so two speakers both at 500Watt RMS and 1ohm will be perfect for this amp right?

and the alternator issue has already been dealt with, was having problems keeping the battery charged even before i got the subs so we upgraded both the battery to the largest i could fit and the alternator to the largest my car can handle, it all ended up being the starter that was the problem but either way the electrical on my car is rock solid lol

EDIT: wouldn't this amp be better, and it is cheaper than the other one. it'll give me the two channel set up for better SQ yet still have the power to rattle my teeth out.

EDIT2: before i forget again, i am looking in to these subs, and this enclosure

ya that amp should handle it or you could spend $40 and get the bigger brother one.

1 ohm: 1500 watts x 1 chan.
i just wanted to put that out there once you get in the 1200wrms+ range its time to upgrade the alt to a 140amp or larger alt. another thing that if you haven't done is look in to the "Big 3 upgrade"

ALT->Batt+ (usually a fused run, 100A)

Batt- -> Chassis

Engine Block -> Chassis

Usually run with 4ga or larger wire.

its upgrading the wires between the neg batt -> block, neg batt -> frame, and alternater pos -> pos batt to 4awg wire or bigger. it allows better current flow and lower voltage drop.

as for the edit in you above post it seems like they would workout, but i remember coming across a review on the RE sub (SRX12D2) some where where they said that they were better then the p3's he had before. however i would take that with a grain of salt.

Also a Deka never hurts anything.

going with a ported set up would be a better option for you as a ported set ups tend to be louder then sealed for the power.

I think a single ported 1000rms 12 would do him good.

If you really want to get into the high end amps, look into: DC, Sundown, Digital Designs, Crescendo, Rockford Fosgate (A bit mainstream but VERY good), and then a few of the Kickers are good (Higher powered ZX series and the Warhorse, mainly). Though yes, that MB Quart will do you fine.

Alright man, first off....get rid of the Boss and Lanzar garbage. It's not any better than what you have.

Go to Fi Audio's website. Order a Fi Q 12, D2. Just one of those bad boys.

Then get yourself a solid 1000w+ amplifier (monoblock, 1ohm load power). Audiopipe AP15001D is $140 and would give you around 1000w RMS easy enough. There's TONS of "better" options out there, but bumpin' on a budget, you won't go wrong with the AP amps (only that line though).

Then BUILD the box to fit that space, ported at around 32Hz.

You'll love me forever.
