Windows 7 questions

Currently using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit... Got a few questions.

How can I change the logon screen / style? I'd like for it to look like the older windows versions where it's just a simple box with a Login name and password. No fancy backgrounds, Or pictures.

Also, What are some tweaks and what not I can do to get as much performance as I can? My PC is only used for web browsing, Light gaming, And music / video play back. I don't print, Write programs, And I'm the only user of this PC.

start> rightclick Computer go to properties> Advanced system settings> Advanced Tab / click Performance settings button> <Visual Effects>
Visual Effects should allow you to do what you asked.

Most of the Google searches I found were just how to change the background image, Not the type.

Just pointing out before someone said "JUST FREAKIN' GOOGLE IT!" Haha.

Nah, I think it's rude when people do that. I actually combined "login" with "secpol.msc" and it came up.

Oh, I see.

Anyways, Are there any kind of tweaks I can do improve Windows as much as possible? I'm not struggling for resources, But I would be nice to squeeze out every bit of performance I can get!

Go to start>right click Computer> properties> advanced system settings>settings under performance> use the following settings (easier than listing them all)

Ahhh. I've tweaked that. I've disabled stuff I know I don't want, And kept what I do.

Registry wise? Services wise, etc.

Sorry to ask so many questions.. but I don't wanna dive into any googled tutorials and really mess something up.
