Must they have all the boxes?

(Pretty sure this is the right forum)
When you order a graphics card from Newegg, you essentially receive 3 boxes. The bland Newegg box, the retail box (first picture), and a black box (second picture).

Only too late did I realize that I would want to RMA my new card. I gave away the box similar to the second one pictured, but I still have the first - which has the UPC/serial code. I can't seem to get a straight answer from Newegg about whether I really need to send them both boxes in an RMA.

Any ideas?

They usually sell these that come back as open box so it shouldn't matter, I would live chat a rep tomorrow just to be sure.
Also I assume that having the top box allows them to make the bottom box look better for cheaper since with the top box they can just print on a sheet of paper then wrap it around.

The VGA return policy is also somewhat vague.

The general policy states (regarding products not eligible for RMA):
-Any product that is returned without all original packaging and accessories, including the retail box, manuals, cables, and all other items originally included with the product

But the standard VGA return policy (shown here: http://www.newegg.com/HelpInfo/ReturnPolicy.aspx#30 ) lists specifically what can't be returned - original packaging isn't even mentioned.

The rep I'm getting by emaildoesn't seem to quite understand my question. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow for chat..

They are pretty good on chat, I don't like their email as much.
