They're not made for headfi purposes, but they sound very decent, especially for skype, games and the likes.

BTW: may I ask, how do you connect your headfigear to your PC?
Logitech isn't crap? I beg to differ.

Anyways... Get a desktop or clip mic.

I was talking about Logitech in the context of audiophile gear.

i.e no high end audio companies have facilities for a mic on their products (even an insulated, separate mic, which does not cause any interferance). So I am forced to resort to a Logitech/other product.

Most gamers won't care much for sound quality. As long as it's a headset, they're satisfied.

Headphones are designed for sound/music. Headsets are designed for communication/gaming.

If you want both, the only place to look is Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser, they offer a combination of a great headphone with a mic. Other than that, you need a separate mic such as Zalman clip, desktop, or a custom one.

thats true, but they also charge a ~$100 premium for the mic.

are there any other companies apart from Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser that make good sounding headsets?

AKG have the GHS-1 as well otherwise, no, not really, none from 'gaming brands' that aren't OEM'ed from real proper reputable headphone brands.
