No, but some people might assume that seeing as TW2 is action/RPG. The first is more of a traditional RPG.

I enjoyed both TW1 and TW2 more or less the same, though I actually preferred combat in the first.

TW1 is a great game. If you are new to RPG's then you would probably like TW2 better as it's a little friendlier to those not familiar with this style of game.

TW1 can be frequently had for $5-10 so I strongly recommend taking the gamble and trying it.

No problem mate I might have stated it a bit more obvious as well. But the game is epic (to me), that's why I probably thought everyone would understand.

K, then I understand what you're saying. I thought you disliked the game due to it's lack of a more action based combat system.

Yes it's arguably the best RPG ever made.

i have had it for ages but struggled to get into it,
when i got a new monitor i decided to give it go since my new monitor is much bigger and allowed me to see what i was doing properly
an i gotta say it has been very entertaining,
i have just gotten into the first city an the game is a bit slow at times other thatn thats its very promising

This is pure truth.

99% of people that claim the Witcher 1 was a bad game never even got past the tutorial. The animations, combat, storyline, etc all dramatically improve in the first 10 hours or so of the game. You'll easily get 60 hours out of the game unless you rush the main quests.

I've actually beaten the game 4 times. I'm going to be playing it the 5th time soon, because I'd like to see what Witcher 2 is like with the export game feature. Even knowing the game as well as I do, it still takes me about 50 hours to beat it on normal difficulty.

Ah, all right thanks.

I'm the kind of player who explores everything, does every quest, etc., so I'll probably get a fair few hours out of it.
