need a better monitor?

ah packed with questions,
where is the best place to buy monitors that are 1920x1200+?
I want to buy another 6970 but it feels pointless getting it by only having a 1920x1080 max res, I have my eye on the

1920x1200, but was wondering if there was anything with a better brand.
I'm not going eye infinity, I just want one monitor at least 26+ inches because I prefer having one monitor. any ideas?

If you're after a 2560x1400/1600 type monitor, then dell might be your best option. Keep a look out for deals on the u2711, a lot of guys on here have this and they're all very happy with it.

edit: just noticed you're specifically after 1920x1200 - if you can settle with 24", then the u2410 is a great IPS monitor

That does sound pretty good, but a little on the pricey side, I hope the price goes down when I decide to buy
is there any site that has high resolution monitors?

oh and what's a good contrast ratio for gaming?

If you're strictly gaming, don't waste the money in getting a U2410. While it is a GREAT monitor, you can get a cheaper monitor that'll suffice for gaming. The main selling point on the U2410 is the color accuracy and reproduction, something that is necessary for photo editing. Since yours will be used mainly for gaming, just go with a TN panel.

As for contrast ratio, there isn't exactly a specific contrast ratio that's good for gaming. I'd be more worried about the response time and input lag. Advertised response times can be a little misleading as different manufacturers can test differently.

Seems okay to me, I haven't really read anything on it though. You can also try to look for cheap 2560x1600 27" monitors, but I have a feeling that they're a little bit more expensive...

a little too much for me, can't seem to find a 2560x1600 under a thousand usd, I'd rather get the 1920x1200 27.5 for a quarter the price, I could just wait for the price of the 2560x1600 to get down a little. Thanks!
