Resource monitor shows Hdd working at 100% at the time of the freeze even though it isn't writing alot. I can move the mouse and such but nothing responses til after the freeze which last up to 90 sec. I thought it probably a hard drive failing. I tried using a ssd from my laptop I whipped the drive and installed windows 7 from fresh but still got random freezes. I tried multiple other hard drives without success. Any idea what it can be ??
i reinstalled windows multiple times so virus isnt a issue it seems its getting better on its own dont ask me it still freezes but no where near as much im still scared to install a ssd now that i got this working whats your thought?
It indeed sounds like a dying HDD to me. You should test it with something like HD Tune or Seatools. Seatools long error check is probably the best.
If it was a memory module then your PC would not freeze, but give a BSOD instead.
