It is something to consider in multi-gpu setups.

Your top card is going to usually be 5-10c warmer on load with adequate space between the cards. According to the reviews you linked, the 470 SOC hit 83c with the factory OC (over 20c hotter than the 560 SOC when stressed). That means, even without manual OCing, your top card could be pushing 90c at factory settings.

With temps that high, your OC headroom gets a lot slimmer.

Overall performance numbers are very closed, even after OC'ing. From this it appears the GTX 470 SOC is actually the better buy thinking.gif Am I overlooking something?
What price are you getting for the 470?

What price are you getting for the 470?

My case has been modded to handle that situation. There will be an empty slot between the GPUs so having SLI 470s will not be an issue...trust me wink.gif

Both the GTX 470 SOC & 560ti SOC are going for $260 @ MicroCenter (will be price-matching NewEgg) biggrin.gif

Get the 470 if heat is not an issue, it can overclock very well to 800-850MHz, it has a bit more Vram, 320bit memory vs 256bit on the 560 and more cuda cores.

What is the price difference?

1gb isn't enough for SLI at 1080p IMO consider the 2gb version of the 560 if you're going that route, you'll be vram limited in some titles before you run out of power with only 1gb.

Edit: I just saw your prices, a 470 isn't a good deal at $260. I got mine for $185 new, and another with lifetime warranty for $180 used. Do yourself a favor, grab two for $310~ off the for sale section.
