I had nothing but issues with a stock i7 cooler in another rig.

I'd recommend sorting out cooling (getting that 212+ or whichever other air cooler you're planning on purchasing) before you run your rig anymore.

Yea i definitely won't be rendering HD video or do anything that puts 100% load on my cpu until i purchase an after market cooler.

I'm still open to suggestions on coolers though people, i am not purchasing one until monday. I wanna make sure i get the best bang for my buck in the cooling department.

The Corsair H70 cools with the best of the air coolers but it a lot easier to move around your other components.

Corsair A50 is an awesome air cooler...the 212+ is as well for its pricepoint.

Or, you can drop an H50 water cooler in there.
(I wouldn't go H70 personally...at that point, it's better to spend some more and go with a RASA water cooling kit)

I just saw this right now

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...review-10.html

the 212+ is neck and neck with the megahalems for about 30 bucks less, not to mention u have to spend extra $$$ for a fan on the megahalems....

Your Phenom gives half the performance and is mounted with a decent cooler. When the OP will get his new cooler, it will be nowhere near that temp. Plus, I think you need to do some more reading on how AMD and INTEL measure temps. The 65 celsius temp on your AMD is roughly the 90 plus temp on an I7.
